Vokkaliga or Gowda (landowning) neighborhood, led by a number of co-organisations, the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular), protested towards the arrest of Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar.

BJP leaders’ denial
Ministers CN Ashwath Narayan, R Ashoka and CT Ravi publicly denied that the BJP is focusing on Shivakumar and the neighborhood.
